Mavis Shank Memorial Scholarship Fund

Lifetime Tyner area resident, Mavis (Mrs. Cedric) Shank was born on her family farm in Polk Township on March 19, 1919, and for most of her life never lived more than two miles from home. Mavis was the assistant to the principal at Tyner School and remained with the system as it became John Glenn and retired in 1984 as corporation treasurer after 28 years. Mavis was a caregiver at heart.

The Mavis Shank Memorial Scholarship Fund provides one or more annual scholarships to residents of Polk Township and/or graduating seniors at John Glenn High School.
