Special Grant Round Celebrates Indiana’s 2016 Bicentennial

on .

Indiana's official 200th birthday is December 11, 2016, but initiatives across the state will commemorate the bicentennial leading up to and during 2016 and into the future. Indiana's past and present are worth celebrating and there are plenty of opportunities for local celebrations, projects and programs to reflect upon 200 years of progress with genuine Hoosier pride and ingenuity. At the Marshall County Community Foundation, a special grant round will recognize this important milestone in our state's history and encourage local participation in the celebration.

Up to $10,000 in MCCF funding has been set aside for programs and projects specifically related to the bicentennial celebration. Nonprofit organizations with 501(c)(3) IRS status or organizations with 501(c) IRS status whose request is charitable in nature are eligible to apply for up to $2,000. Only applications that focus on Indiana's 2016 Bicentennial Celebration will be accepted for this special grant round. Eligible programs or projects must meet one or more of the following recommended goals or characteristics: historical, educational, promoting awareness and interest or tourism in Marshall County, celebratory, or engaging and inspiring to youth and young adults. Collaborations are encouraged.

Applications for this special "Small and Inspiring" grant round will be due in the MCCF office no later than noon on Monday, January 12, 2015. A streamlined application must be used: Grant Application-Indiana's Bicentennial Celebration. Award recipients for this special grant round will still be eligible for the regular MCCF grant rounds due February 1, 2015 and August 1, 2015 that are intended to address emerging community needs.
