Leadership Marshall County, a joint program between the Marshall County Community Foundation and the United Way of Marshall County, held graduation for the fourteen participants of Class XXI on May 11, 2016, in the Legion Memorial Building at Culver Academies.

The Marshall County Community Foundation is now accepting applications for the 2015 Community Fund fall grant round. The Community Fund at the Marshall County Community Foundation (MCCF) is one of the most flexible and responsive of the Foundation’s 332 funds in addressing new and emerging community needs. Twice each year grants are awarded from this endowment fund’s earnings to nonprofit organizations. These grants support specific projects or programs throughout Marshall County typically focusing on the arts, education, health and human services, recreation and the environment. Community members who serve on MCCF’s Grants Committee evaluate proposals and conduct site visits during a competitive application process.

Applications for the Community Fund grants are due by 4:30 pm, Monday, August 3, 2015.

Indiana's official 200th birthday is December 11, 2016, but initiatives across the state will commemorate the bicentennial leading up to and during 2016 and into the future. Indiana's past and present are worth celebrating and there are plenty of opportunities for local celebrations, projects and programs to reflect upon 200 years of progress with genuine Hoosier pride and ingenuity. At the Marshall County Community Foundation, a special grant round will recognize this important milestone in our state's history and encourage local participation in the celebration.

Nonprofit organizations are faced with a world where doing more with less is an everyday occurrence. Planned giving is often an overlooked opportunity to connect loyal supporters with a way to build toward a brighter future. Just one planned gift could feed more families, fund more arts programs, save more animals, shelter more homeless people or, quite simply, make a nonprofit mission a reality. The Marshall County Community Foundation (MCCF) will host nonprofit organizations across the region at Swan Lake Resort, 5203 Plymouth LaPorte Trail, Plymouth, IN, on Thursday, May 22, from 3-4:30 pm. Anyone interested in learning more about creating lasting legacies and secure revenue streams for nonprofits is invited to attend.

The Grants Committee of the Marshall County Community Foundation awarded the first round of 2014 grants from the General Endowment Fund and the Ralph C. Vonnegut Jr. Grants during a news conference held Wednesday, April 9, 2014 in Plymouth, Indiana.

The General Endowment Fund is a grant making fund of the Marshall County Community Foundation (MCCF) that is one of the most flexible and responsive of the Foundation's 316 funds. Grants from this endowment fund address needs throughout Marshall County typically focusing on the arts, education, health and human services, recreation and the environment. The Ralph C. Vonnegut Jr. Fund was established to provide funding for environmental, educational or recreational projects directly related to Lake Maxinkuckee. For both types of grants, members of the community evaluate proposals and conduct site visits during a competitive application process.

LILLY ENDOWMENT COMMUNITY SCHOLARSHIP WINNER

Plymouth, IN – One Marshall County student has been named recipient of a four-year, full tuition scholarship as the Marshall County Community Foundation (MCCF) 2014 Lilly Endowment Community Scholar.

Mr. Cole Jacobson will receive full tuition to the Indiana college of his choice and a $900 yearly stipend for required books and equipment.
