Creating a Stronger Community Together
We believe the best way to create a better future for all is to support the development of healthy, thriving communities. One of the best ways to do this is partnering with organizations throughout Marshall County to create connections, streamline services, and build the next generation of leaders.
Marshall County Career Innovation Center
The Marshall County Career Innovation Center (MCCIC) is a nearly 25,000 square foot facility located in a rehabilitated portion of Plymouth High School and includes classroom spaces for the following programs: AG Tech & Power, Veterinary Science, Culinary Arts, Computer Science, and Early Childhood Learning and includes onsite daycare options for teachers, staff and students. This space also includes space opportunities for a Building and Trades program as well as an Automotive Technology Center.
MCCIC was granted $150,000 from Lilly Endowment Inc. GIFT VIII funding through the Marshall County Community Foundation community project match funds. “We are grateful to all of the catalytic funders who came together to make this project possible,” stated, Linda Yoder, Executive Director of the Marshall County Community Foundation. “This project will reach and empower thousands of students who previously did not have access to these opportunities.”
One Marshall County
One Marshall County (OMC) is Marshall County’s regional planning team. It was established to help support the reorganization of the former Crossroads Regional Planning Team to create great hometowns, thriving economies, quality places, collaborative leaders, and more efficient organizations across Marshall County.
Deliverables from One Marshall County include encouraging, strengthening, and supporting Marshall County READI 2.0 projects, reviewing and updating five-year county plans, and connecting One Marshall County thematic areas to the South Bend Elkhart Regional Partnership plans. OMC’s thematic pillars include Housing & Infrastructure; Quality of Life; Quality of Place; Education & Workforce Development; and Business Innovation & Growth.
OMC was granted $75,000 from Lilly Endowment Inc. GIFT VIII funding through the Marshall County Community Foundation community project match funds.
Leadership Marshall County
Leadership Marshall County (LMC) empowers emerging and experienced leaders with the skills and insights needed to make a lasting impact on their organizations and the community.
Since its inception in 1995, this collaborative initiative between the Marshall County Community Foundation and United Way of Marshall County has cultivated leaders through dynamic classes led by experts in government, economic development, criminal justice, tourism, arts, and health and human services.
The program is built on basic principles, including:
- Leader self-management
- Leading and empowering others
- Directing the team/community dance
Participants gain hands-on knowledge of the challenges and opportunities facing Marshall County, preparing them to shape its future. By developing visionary leaders, LMC ensures that Marshall County continues to thrive as an exceptional place to live, work, and grow.
Leadership Marshall County is administered by the Marshall County Lifelong Learning Network, who have taken the program to new heights.
If selected, participants will be responsible for their tuition, either on their own or via a financial sponsor. Scholarships are also available.
