Marshall County Community Foundation administers a number of scholarships, from traditional awards for graduating seniors to those geared towards current students, professionals, and other special circumstances.

Each scholarship has its own application guidelines, deadlines, and application process, so please be sure to read the instructions of the scholarship you’re applying for carefully.

Bremen High School Scholarships

We administer a number of scholarships, which range from the traditional academic and athletic awards to corporate and special circumstances offerings. 

Applying for a scholarship is free, so we invite you to spend some time finding opportunities for which you are a good fit. You can learn more about each scholarship by clicking on each of the below scholarship titles. 

Bowen Medical Education Fund
  • The purpose of the fund is to provide one or more annual scholarships to assist with the educational expenses of a graduate of Bremen High School in Bremen, Indiana who will be pursuing a career in a health profession. 
  • The Bowen Medical Education Fund scholarship is renewable annually to previous recipients at the discretion of the Scholarship Advisory Committee as long as all other recipient qualifications are met. 
  • The emphasis of Bowen Medical Education Fund scholarship(s) shall be for non-renewable scholarship(s).
  • The purpose of this fund is to provide one or more annual scholarships to a Bremen High School senior, preferably to students involved in agriculture program(s) at Bremen High School. 
  • This scholarship is renewable annually, as long as all recipient qualifications are met.
  • The purpose of the fund is to provide annual scholarships to graduating seniors of Bremen High School who have excelled in athletic endeavors.
  • The purpose of the fund is to provide one or more annual scholarships to graduates of Bremen High School, Bremen, Indiana.
  • All other recipient qualifications for this scholarship will be established by the Bremen Dollars for Scholars program and such qualifications shall at all times be in compliance with all applicable laws and statutes. 
  • The Bremen High School Alumni Scholarship is renewable annually to previous recipients at the discretion of the Scholarship Advisory Committee as long as all other recipient qualifications are met.
  • The purpose of the fund is to provide an annual scholarship to a Bremen High School senior. 
  • The purpose of the fund is to provide one or more annual scholarships to graduates of Bremen High School, Bremen, Indiana. 
  • All other recipient qualifications for this scholarship will be established by the Bremen Dollars for Scholars program and such qualifications shall at all times be in compliance with all applicable laws and statutes. 
  • The Bremen High School Alumni Scholarship is renewable annually to previous recipients at the discretion of the Scholarship Advisory Committee as long as all other recipient qualifications are met.
  • The purpose of the fund is to provide one or more annual scholarships to assist with the educational expenses of a graduate of Bremen High School in Bremen, Indiana. 
  • The purpose of the fund is to provide one or more annual scholarships to a Bremen High School senior.
  • The applicant must be a graduating senior who has demonstrated involvement in the community through community service. 
  • The Caroline (Doll) Mikel Memorial Scholarship Fund is renewable annually to previous recipients at the discretion of the Scholarship Advisory Committee as long as all other recipient qualifications are met.
  • Dale graduated from Bremen High School in 1946 and went on to run a successful refrigeration and appliance repair business for several decades in the Marshall County area. 
  • He continued to support and follow athletics through his children’s endeavors in the LaVille High School community. He also worked with the athletic booster’s club to further the athletic program there. 
  • Through this scholarship, Dale’s family hopes to inspire students to continue their education to follow their dreams.
  • Scholarship Criteria:
    • Supports Bremen High School graduating senior(s).
    • Applicants must have participated in extra-curricular activities at Bremen High School (preference given to track athletes, thespians, choir members, or members of the FFA.
    • Applicants must be pursuing further education.
    • Applicants must display Christian ethics and values.
  • The purpose of the fund is to provide one or more annual scholarships to graduates of Bremen High School, Bremen, Indiana. 
  • All other recipient qualifications for this scholarship will be established by the Bremen Dollars for Scholars program and such qualifications shall at all times be in compliance with all applicable laws and statutes. 
  • The Dan Koontz Memorial is renewable annually to previous recipients at the discretion of the Scholarship Advisory Committee as long as all other recipient qualifications are met.
  • The purpose of the fund is to provide one or more annual scholarships to graduates of Bremen High School in Bremen, Indiana.
  • The purpose of the fund is to provide a merit based annual scholarship in the amount of at least $500.00 to a student pursuing a college major or minor in music with aspiration of a professional career in a musical field. 
  • The scholarship recipient must have been a member of the band or choir at Bremen High School, Bremen, Indiana for four (4) years and have been a high level participant in the musical offerings of Bremen High School and the community (Musicals, church choirs, Bands, etc.). 
  • If no student meets the qualifications, the Scholarship Advisory Committee may choose someone who has a musical background but is pursuing another field of study. 
  • The Dean and Gretchen Kimble Music Scholarship is renewable annually to previous recipients as long as all other recipient qualifications are met.
  • The purpose of this fund is to provide one or more annual scholarships to a Bremen High School senior who preferably participated in an art club or program at Bremen High School and/or is pursuing a career in visual or language arts, but any Bremen High School senior may apply. 
  • Preference given to awarding a first-year student, but previous recipients may apply.
  • The purpose of the fund is to support the Bremen Dollars for Scholars in supporting a memorial scholarship in memory of Don and Jan Bunge. 
  • The purpose of the fund is to provide one or more annual scholarships to students who graduate from Bremen High School, Bremen, Indiana in the name of Dorothy L. Peterson and Dudley A. Peterson. 
  • The Dorothy L. Peterson and Dudley A. Peterson Memorial Scholarship is renewable annually to previous recipients at the discretion of the Scholarship Advisory Committee as long as all other recipient qualifications are met.
  • The purpose of this fund is to provide one or more annual scholarships to a Bremen High School senior who preferably is involved in baseball and/or soccer. 
  • Applicants must provide an essay describing the influence of God in their life.
  • The purpose of the fund is to provide one or more annual scholarships to graduates of Bremen High School in Bremen, Indiana. 
  • All other recipient qualifications for this scholarship will be established by the Bremen Dollars for Scholars program and such qualifications shall at all times be in compliance with all applicable laws and statutes. 
  • The Frank DeSantis Scholarship is renewable annually to previous recipients at the discretion of the Scholarship Advisory Committee as long as all other recipient qualifications are met.
  • The purpose of the fund is to provide one or more annual scholarships to graduates of Bremen High School, Bremen.
  • The Fred Nierste Scholarship is renewable annually to previous recipients at the discretion of the Scholarship Advisory Committee as long as all other recipient qualifications are met.
  • The purpose of the fund is to provide one or more annual scholarships to graduates of Bremen High School, Bremen. 
  • The Greg LaFree Endowment is renewable annually to previous recipients at the discretion of the Scholarship Advisory Committee as long as all other recipient qualifications are met.
  • The purpose of the fund is to provide one or more annual scholarships to graduates of Bremen High School, Bremen, Indiana. 
  • All other recipient qualifications for this scholarship will be established by the Bremen Dollars for Scholars program and such qualifications shall at all times be in compliance with all applicable laws and statutes. 
  • The Ivan Kelley Family Scholarship is renewable annually to previous recipients at the discretion of the Scholarship Advisory Committee as long as all other recipient qualifications are met.
  • The purpose of the fund is to provide one or more annual scholarships to graduates of Bremen High School, Bremen, Indiana. 
  • All other recipient qualifications for this scholarship will be established by the Bremen Dollars for Scholars program and such qualifications shall at all times be in compliance with all applicable laws and statutes. 
  • The Jake Spaid Memorial is renewable annually to previous recipients at the discretion of the Scholarship Advisory Committee as long as all other recipient qualifications are met.
  • The purpose of the fund is to provide one or more annual scholarships to graduates of Bremen High School, Bremen, Indiana. 
  • All other recipient qualifications for this scholarship will be established by the Bremen dollars for Scholars program and such qualifications shall at all times be in compliance with all applicable laws and statutes. 
  • The Jane Sieg Stillson Memorial Scholarship is renewable annually to previous recipients at the discretion of the Scholarship Advisory Committee as long as all other recipient qualifications are met.
  • The purpose of the fund is to provide one or more annual scholarships to students who graduate from Bremen High School, Bremen, Indiana. 
  • The Jean Pfieffer Memorial Scholarship is renewable annually to previous recipients at the discretion of the Scholarship Advisory Committee as long as all other recipient qualifications are met.
  • This scholarship is in memory of Jeanette Rarick who worked at the high school for twenty-eight years, and retired in June of 2016. She was an aid at the high school and will be remembered most for tutoring high school students in math. She passed away May 17, 2017, from cancer. 
  • The purpose of this scholarship is to honor her memory by providing a scholarship for one or more graduating seniors from Bremen High School, or a former Bremen High School graduate who is attending and is in good standing at a qualified school.
  • Scholarship Criteria:
    • The purpose of the fund is to provide one or more scholarships to graduates of Bremen High School.
    • The applicant must intend to study at either a two-year Vocational or Technical school, or a four-year College or University. 
    • Preference may be given to students who have shown a desire to improve or help others improve their math skills while a student at Bremen High School.
  • The Jeanette Rarick Memorial Scholarship may be renewable annually to previous recipients at the discretion of the Scholarship Advisory Committee as long as all other recipient qualifications are met. Former graduates of Bremen High School who meet the qualifications (in section above) are also eligible for consideration as well.
  • The purpose of the fund is to provide one or more annual scholarships to graduates of Bremen High School, Bremen, Indiana. 
  • All other recipient qualifications for this scholarship will be established by the Bremen Dollars for Scholars program and such qualifications shall at all times be in compliance with all applicable laws and statutes. 
  • The John and Ruby Leman Scholarship is renewable annually to previous recipients at the discretion of the Scholarship Advisory Committee as long as all other recipient qualifications are met.
  • The purpose of the fund is to provide scholarship/s to graduating seniors from Bremen High School. 
  • Applicants must have a GPA of 3.0 or higher and plan to pursue a degree in accounting or finance. 
  • Applicants pursuing a career in general business may also apply if no candidates pursuing accounting or finance are awarded the scholarship.
  • The John Ringle Memorial Scholarship is not renewable annually to previous recipients.
  • The purpose of the fund is to provide an annual scholarship to a Bremen High School senior. The recipient of the scholarship shall attend an accredited college or university.
  • The purpose of this fund is to provide one or more annual scholarships to a Bremen High School senior pursuing certification or training in public safety and emergency service, including law enforcement, emergency medical services such as paramedic, emergency medical technician, nurse, or firefighter. 
  • This scholarship is renewable annually, as long as all recipient qualifications are met.
  • The purpose of the fund is to provide one or more annual scholarships to graduates of Bremen High School, Bremen. 
  • The Linda Weaver Memorial Scholarship is renewable annually to previous recipients at the discretion of the Scholarship Advisory Committee as long as all other recipient qualifications are met.
  • The purpose of this fund is to provide one or more annual scholarships to a Bremen High School senior who has demonstrated Mark Wagner’s commitment to hard work, Bremen athletics, and the town of Bremen. 
  • Preference for the scholarship award(s) may be given to tennis players, but any eligible Bremen High School seniors may apply.
  • The purpose of the fund is to provide one or more annual scholarships to graduates of Bremen High School, Bremen, Indiana who are planning to attend a vocational or trade school in the state of Indiana.  
  • The scholarship recipient must have been enrolled in the Family and Consumer Science Program or similar program offered at Bremen High School, Bremen, Indiana. 
  • The Miss T. Memorial Scholarship is renewable annually to previous recipients at the discretion of the Scholarship Advisory Committee as long as all other recipient qualifications are met.
  • The purpose of the fund is to provide one or more annual scholarships to students who graduate from Bremen High School, Bremen, Indiana. 
  • Special consideration will be given to students continuing their studies in the trades.
  • The Neil Germann Memorial Scholarship is renewable annually to previous recipients at the discretion of the Scholarship Advisory Committee as long as all other recipient qualifications are met.
  • The purpose of the fund is to provide an annual scholarship to a Bremen High School senior. 
  • The applicant must be a graduating senior who has earned a varsity letter playing soccer for Bremen High School. 
  • Applicants must also have maintained a C+ or better average grade through the 11th trimester. 
  • The scholarship will be for $1,000.00 to be used for expenses during the student’s first year of college.
  • The purpose of the fund is to provide one or more annual scholarships to graduates of Bremen High School, Bremen, Indiana. 
  • The Quincy A. Troup 40 Scholarship is renewable annually to previous recipients at the discretion of the Scholarship Advisory Committee as long as all other recipient qualifications are met.
  • The purpose of this fund is to provide a scholarship for a Bremen High School graduate.
  • The purpose of the fund is to provide one or more annual scholarships to graduates of Bremen High School, Bremen. 
  • The Ray Martin Memorial Scholarship is renewable annually to previous recipients at the discretion of the Scholarship Advisory Committee as long as all other recipient qualifications are met.
  • The purpose of the fund is to provide one or more annual scholarships to graduates of Bremen High School, Bremen.
  • The Ritter Family Memorial Scholarship is renewable annually to previous recipients at the discretion of the Scholarship Advisory Committee as long as all other recipient qualifications are met.
  • The purpose of the fund is to provide one or more annual scholarships to graduates of Bremen High School, Bremen, Indiana.
  • All other recipient qualifications for this scholarship will be established by the Bremen dollars for Scholars program and such qualifications shall at all times be in compliance with all applicable laws and statutes.
  • The Robert and Helen Widmar Scholarship is renewable annually to previous recipients at the discretion of the Scholarship Advisory Committee as long as all other recipient qualifications are met.
  • The purpose of the fund is to provide one or more annual scholarships to graduates of Bremen High School. 
  • The applicant must be a graduating senior who is pursuing a teaching degree. 
  • The award is based on need.
  • The purpose of the fund is to provide one or more annual scholarships to graduates of Bremen High School, Bremen.
  • The Ryan M. Heintzelman Scholarship is renewable annually to previous recipients at the discretion of the Scholarship Advisory Committee as long as all other recipient qualifications are met.
  • The purpose of the fund is to provide one or more annual scholarships to graduates of Bremen High School, Bremen. 
  • The Ryan Unsicker Memorial Scholarship is renewable annually to previous recipients at the discretion of the Scholarship Advisory Committee as long as all other recipient qualifications are met.
  • The purpose of the fund is to provide at least one scholarship to a senior from Bremen High School and at least one scholarship to a senior from an Indiana High School located within a forty mile radius of Bremen.
  • If funds are available, a total of three $1,000.00 scholarships will be awarded each year. The scholarships are non-renewable. 
  • The applicant must be:
    • A graduating senior from a public or private school during the current year
    • Be active in the school/community
    • Have a minimum GPA equivalent to a 3.0 (B) on a 4.0 scale. 
    • Have completed six athletic seasons during high school as an athlete, trainer, manager, cheerleader, etc.  
  • Applicant must complete a scholarship application, submit an essay, and provide references and an official high school transcript.
