Investing in the Scholars of Marshall County
Marshall County Community Foundation administers a number of scholarships, from traditional awards for graduating seniors to those geared towards current students, professionals, and other special circumstances.
Each scholarship has its own application guidelines, deadlines, and application process, so please be sure to read the instructions of the scholarship you’re applying for carefully.
Triton High School Scholarships
We administer a number of scholarships, which range from the traditional academic and athletic awards to corporate and special circumstances offerings.
Applying for a scholarship is free, so we invite you to spend some time finding opportunities for which you are a good fit. You can learn more about each scholarship by clicking on each of the below scholarship titles.
Scholarship applications through the Marshall County Community Foundation will open Monday, December 1, 2025 and will close on Saturday, February 28, 2026.
Audrey Grossman Memorial Scholarship Fund
- The purpose of this fund is to provide an annual scholarship for a Triton Senior (or graduate).
- The student shall be a senior in good standing at Triton Jr.-Sr. High School who plans to attend college or vocational school to become a registered nurse.
- The student’s genuine concern for other people, financial need, academic promise, and leadership skills will all be considered as factors in determining the scholarship winner.
- If no senior meets the above criteria, the scholarship may be given to a Triton graduate who is currently pursuing an undergraduate degree in nursing (i.e. a freshman, sophomore, or junior in college who is enrolled in a nursing program).
- If no college student meets the criteria in item three, then the scholarship will be awarded to a Triton senior planning to attend college or vocational school, regardless of the intended degree.
Bourbon High School Alumni Association Scholarship Fund
- The purpose of the fund is to provide an annual scholarship for up to four (4) Triton High School seniors.
- Applicants must have achieved an overall “B” grade point average or above (e.g. 8.0 to 12.00 GPA) in high school.
- First preference will be given to applicants related to a Bourbon High School Alumni Association member.
- Second preference will be given to a Triton High School senior who lives in Bourbon Township.
- Each scholarship recipient will receive at least $500 per year for up to four years of continuous enrollment in an accredited two- or four-year public or private institution of higher learning.
- If additional funds become available for scholarships, amounts higher than $500 will be determined by the Scholarship Advisory Committee.
- To remain in good standing, scholarship recipients must maintain a 2.0 GPA in their freshman year of college, and a 2.5 GPA their sophomore year, and a 3.0 GPA in each of their junior and senior years.
Brian Zeider Memorial Scholarship Fund
- The purpose of this fund is to provide one or more annual scholarships to graduates of Triton Jr.-Sr. High School, Bourbon, Indiana.
- The recipient must be a resident of Bourbon, Etna Green, or Tippecanoe, Indiana.
- The recipient must have a cumulative GPA of 8.0 out of a 12.0 scale.
- The recipient must intend to major in science.
- The Brian Zeider Memorial Scholarship is NOT renewable to previous recipients.
Charles Compton Memorial Scholarship
- This scholarship is an endowed fund established with the Marshall County Community Foundation in memory of Charles Compton, a long-time Bourbon resident and avid supporter of Triton Schools, by his wife Glendora. Mr. Compton spent his career in the RV industry and desired to support students who were pursuing further education outside a traditional four-year college path.
- Scholarship Criteria:
- Preference will be given to students who are pursuing further education in a skilled trade area.
- Must have participated in CTE classes while in high school.
- Minimum 2.5 GPA.
Charles King Memorial Scholarship
- The Charles King Memorial Scholarship was established at the Marshall County Community Foundation in memory of Charlie as a successful businessman and active community member. Charlie was a lifelong resident of the Tippecanoe and Bourbon areas. He owned Bourbon Silo Company, began a burial vault business, and co-owned Koontz and King Excavating. He was a bus driver for Triton School Corporation and a Volunteer Fireman for the Bourbon Fire Department for many years.
- Scholarship Criteria:
- The purpose of this fund is to provide one or more annual scholarships to a graduating senior at Triton High School, Bourbon, Indiana.
- This scholarship may be renewable annually to previous recipients.
D. Neil Rettinger Memorial Scholarship
- The purpose of this fund is to provide an annual scholarship(s) to a Triton Jr./Sr. High School senior or previous Triton graduate pursuing a bachelor’s degree attending Manchester College.
- If Manchester College ceases to exist the recipient shall attend a private, church-affiliated college.
- A primary preference shall be given to those students who are active members of the Church of the Brethren.
- Secondary preference shall be given to students majoring in pre-optometry, religion, or chemistry.
- If no Triton seniors or graduates will be attending Manchester in one of these major areas, then any major area will be considered eligible.
- Financial need, academic promise, and leadership skills will all be considered as possible factors in determining scholarship winners.
Donna and Steve Feldman Scholarship Fund
- The purpose of this fund is to provide an annual scholarship(s) to a Triton Jr./Sr. High School senior who demonstrates an agricultural background and/or three to four years in FFA or 4-H.
Harold D. Miller Memorial Scholarship Fund
- The purpose of this fund is to annually award a Triton student.
- First preference will be given to those seniors who plan to pursue an agriculturally related career at an accredited institution.
- If no seniors meet the above criterion, students next considered will be those who come from a family who is involved in agribusiness (with first consideration given to those families in production agriculture).
- If no seniors meet either of the first two criteria, then previous Triton graduates who are currently attending an accredited institution and meet the criteria above may be considered.
- Financial need, academic promise, and leadership skills will all be considered as factors in determining scholarship winners.
Jack Kochert Memorial Scholarship Fund
- The purpose of this fund is to provide an annual scholarship.
- The applicant must be planning to pursue an agriculturally-related career at an accredited institution.
- The applicant must be an FFA member and must reside within the Triton community.
- The applicant must be initially enrolling within their program of study.
Jacob Berger Memorial Scholarship
- The purpose of the fund is to provide one or more annual scholarships to graduating senior student(s) or graduates from Triton Jr.-Sr. High School. Preference will be given to three, two, or one-sport (in that order) athletes who have at least a 2.6 GPA.
Jill Carpenter Memorial Fund
- The purpose of the fund is to provide one or more annual scholarships to seniors or graduates of Triton Jr/Sr High School, located in Bourbon, Indiana.
- The Jill Carpenter Memorial Fund Scholarships are renewable annually to previous recipients at the discretion of the Scholarship Advisory Committee as long as all other recipient qualifications are met.
Lewis and Neva Mason Scholarship Fund
- The purpose of this fund is to assist Triton students in pursuing a post-secondary, undergraduate degree.
- One or more annual scholarships are to be awarded annually to Triton graduates (and possibly some Triton seniors) with the following criteria as guidelines for awarding these scholarships:
- Two scholarships of $1000 each (or at least 20% of the available annual distribution from this fund within the pay-out policies of the Community Foundation) will be awarded. The remainder of the income shall be dispersed in scholarships worth at least $599 each ( or at least 10% of the available annual distribution as specified in the Foundation pay-out policy from the Fund)
- At least half of all awards shall be made to Triton graduates who are at the sophomore level or above their undergraduate programs at either a college or vocational school.
- First preference shall be given to those students attending a state supported college (currently Indiana University, Indiana State University, Ball State University, Purdue University, University of Southern Indiana, Vincennes University, or any other their satellite branches), community college, (Ivy Tech State College, Ancilla College, or Holy Cross), or a state supported vocational school (Ivy Tech State College or Vincennes University).
- Financial need, academic promise, and leadership skills will be considered as possible factors in determining scholarship winners.
- The actual scholarships will be awarded to the students after the successful completion of the fall semester/quarter, under the condition that they are also enrolled as a full time student for the upcoming winter/spring quarter.
- The Lewis and Neva Mason Scholarship is renewable annually to previous recipients as long as all other recipient qualifications are met.
Mary Thomas Scholarship
- This scholarship was established in memory of Mary Thomas who served as a Triton Elementary School teacher her entire career.
Mt. Pleasant Church of the Brethren Scholarship Fund
- The purpose of this fund is to provide an annual scholarship to a Triton High School senior who demonstrates a connection with Mr. Pleasant or other churches of the Brethren (locally these could be Walnut, Bremen, Camp Creek, and others).
- The applicant must be a graduating senior attending Manchester College or other Church of the Brethren colleges; and students pursuing a major in peace studies, preparing for the ministry, or students pursuing careers in areas that follow historic peaceful teachings of the church.
- In the event no qualified candidate is found the scholarship may be awarded to any Triton graduate in college as selected by the Scholarship Advisory Committee.
- Applicants will write a brief description of their connection with the Church of the Brethren regarding their commitment to being an advocate for peace to accompany their scholarship application.
Nathan Collins Memorial Scholarship Fund
- The purpose of the fund is to provide an annual scholarship to a Triton Jr Sr High School senior attending Purdue University in Lafayette.
- If no senior is attending Purdue University West Lafayette the scholarship may be awarded to a senior attending Purdue Fort Wayne or Purdue North Central.
Nilas Cretcher Memorial Scholarship Fund
- This will be a memorial scholarship given through the Triton Educational Scholarship committee.
Ralph and Louise Mason Scholarship Fund
- The purpose of the fund is to provide one or more annual scholarships to a Triton High School graduate studying business, with preference given to a student attending Indiana University and pursuing a business degree through the Kelly School of Business at Bloomington, Indiana.
- Should there be no applicants meeting this qualification, the recipient may be a Triton High School graduate pursuing a bachelor’s degree and attending Indiana University-Bloomington in any field of study.
- Should there be no applicants meeting this qualification, the recipient may be a Triton High School graduate attending any Indiana University satellite campus and pursuing a bachelor’s degree with preference given to a student with an interest in pursuing a business degree.
- The applicant must be a graduating senior who has maintained a minimum grade B average based on the school’s cumulative scoring with preference given to students demonstrating financial need.
- The Ralph and Louise Mason Scholarship Fund is renewable annually to previous recipients at the discretion of the Scholarship Advisory Committee so long as the student maintains a minimum grade B average, remains in good standing with an institute of higher education, and on a continuous path to a bachelor’s degree.
Russell and Audry Feldman Memorial Scholarship Fund
- The purpose of this fund is to provide a scholarship(s) for a Triton Junior-Senior High School student.
The Velorus and Lois Stouder Scholarship Fund
- The intent of this scholarship is to assist Triton students in pursuing a post-secondary, undergraduate education. The criteria for awarding this scholarship is:
- The student shall be a senior and in good standing at Triton Jr.-Sr. High School who plans to attend college or vocational school.
- Financial need, academic promise, and leadership skills will all be considered as factors in determining scholarship winners.
- The actual scholarship will be awarded to the student after the successful completion of the fall semester/quarter, under the condition that he/she is also enrolled as a full time student for the upcoming winter/spring quarter.
Triton Education Fund
- The purpose of this fund is to provide an annual scholarship (s) to a Triton Jr./Sr. High School senior.
Triton Trojan Sports Network (TTSN) Scholarship
- Must be enrolled at any accredited technical institution, or any accredited two-year, four-year, or post-graduate degree institution.
- The purpose of the fund is to provide one or more annual scholarships to a graduate from Triton Junior-Senior High School, pursuing further education as a full-time student 0.2537681223678123456789
